market days...

A little wrap-up of our recent market outings...

We booked ourselves a pretty packed end-of-year market schedule - three big Adelaide markets in a row - & we always knew it would mean pushing ourselves in terms of energy & stock levels. And while life circumstances & super hot weather have meant we've finished way more tired/drained than expected, we're still pretty happy with the outcome.

First up was the Home Sweet Home market at Flinders Street in mid-November. We had a joint Jewelflyt + Hollipotamus stall, under our newly lace-topped gazebo, filled with copper & bronze jewellery, zentangle cards, dragons, dogs, mobiles... Although there wasn't as big a crowd as anticipated/hoped for, we still had a really good market - including far too many cakes from St George's.

On the last Saturday in November, I had a solo (Jewelflyt) stall at the Etsy Made Local event in Unley - these were run all over the country on the same day, the Adelaide event being organised by the EtsyAdelaide street team. The setting was gorgeous (Oxford Tce), the weather was kind to us, my stall looked good (& I almost ran out of business cards), there were heaps of people & I had probably my best ever market day sales - just an amazing day all round.

Then on the first weekend in December it was time for this year's Christmas Bazaar at Flinders Street. A joint venture again, under the lace canopy & I think our stall looked lovely. The crowd wasn't as big as last year - but then last year it wasn't super hot (high 30C's, low 40C's both days). Actually, considering the heat, the amount of people who came to the market was amazing & we still had a really good weekend sales-wise.

& lastly to the Wirrabara Producer's Market last Sunday. Things were a little quiet - thanks to the weather again (it was cooler on the day, but the lead up left everyone exhausted) - but it is always a nice outing & a lovely way to finish off the year's markets.

recently...

...life has been very up & down lately, super busy, with plenty of highs & one big low...my Uncle passed away suddenly, far too young & along with all the emotion, getting to Brisbane for the funeral & back has left us all feeling rather drained...

...the really hot weather hasn't been helping - thankfully there is at least a little bit of relief in sight (well, 31C is better than 43C, if only a little) - just in time for the market on Sunday...

...on a more positive note, we've survived our big run of markets, with only Wirrabara Producers market on Sunday to go...they all went well & I'm hoping to post a bit of a wrap-up soon...

...speaking of posting, I knew a hectic schedule of making stock/markets/life would mean not much activity here over November, although I didn't expect to be quite this quiet...but that is life I guess & I'm probably the only one who notices anyway...

...I've just had a whole heap of hair chopped off (I can only have long hair for so long before I get sick of it) & have gone with quite a different style to what I usually do - I really like it & am glad I went with something different...

...we've (somewhat belatedly) started the Christmas baking & cooking - we have a very long list for not so many days, but I'm sure we'll get there...

...rather looking forward to giving my secret santa present - hope the recipient likes it!...

...& I dug into my store of blossom photos, from cooler times.

to market, to market...

Got a pretty busy lead-up to Christmas this year - lots of awesome markets to attend...

First up, Home Sweet Home at Flinders Street Market on the 21st & 22nd November. There will be all sorts of handcrafted & vintage homewares, plus yummy food & coffee. I'll have suncatchers/dreamcathers to hang in your window or above your bed, copper & bronze jewellery & zentangle cards, plus my lovely Mum & sister will be there too, with all their gorgeous Hollipotamus goodies...

Then the next Saturday - 28th November - I'll be part of the Etsy Made Local event in Unley. Oxford Tce will be full of all sorts handmade goodness, plus the French Christmas market will be on across the road. My stall will be full of my fine silver, copper, bronze & sterling silver jewellery, plus a bit of beady goodness...

The first weekend in December (5th & 6th) will find me at Flinders Street Market for the Christmas Bazaar. Last year's event was totally amazing & I'm sure this year will be too - the market will be full of all sorts of good things the give for Christmas, or to treat yourself with. Hollipotamus will be there with me & we will have jewellery, zentangle cards, dragons, mobiles, felt ornaments + more...

& last but not least, Wirrabara Producers Market, on the Sunday before Christmas (20th Dec)...

recently...

...we've had a bit of a taste of summer recently, with some 30C+ days - hopefully there is a bit more mild weather to come before summer actually arrives...

...enjoyed the abundance of blossoms while they lasted - they are all gone now, but I have a folder full of photos on my hard-drive... 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 ...

...there has also been plenty of other prettiness blooming in the garden recently, especially all the ranunculus...

...working on a batch of copper & bronze - rolling, shaping, sanding & polishing - mostly new earrings, for my stockist & also for all the markets we have coming up in November & December...

...been doing some plotting & planning in preparation for said markets...

...had a stall at Flinders Street Market last month & helped the Wirrabara Producers Market celebrate their 10th birthday on a sunny Sunday last weekend...

...done a little bit of baking over the last few weeks - lemon poppyseed pound cake, rhubarb & cinnamon cake & most recently butter cake, with the addition of stewed apricots & cinnamon strusel...

...we've been enjoying the huge bunch of different coloured irises that Mum got given the other day...

...& another snippet from my trip.
